After two full attempts to bring it back to screens – one the less-than-loved 1998 movie, and the other am unsold pilot that had John Woo involved – Lost In Space landed with Legendary TV last year and is now headed for Netflix, with Neil Marshall attached to produce and direct at least one episode.

Dracula Untold writers Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama are still attached to deliver their new vision for what was once a campy, colourful sci-fi drama in the 1960s. They’re planning an epic and grounded tale of a young family of space explorers lost in an alien universe and fighting to survive against the odds.

Marshall became involved via his Applebox Entertainment company, which has a deal with Legendary TV, and he’ll produce as well as provide his directing services. It’s all driven by Synthesis Entertainment boss Kevin Burns, who has been trying to find Lost In Space a new home on screens, including a version that included the original cast before the death of Jonathan Harris, who played the original Doctor Smith.
