Despite the disappointment of The Bourne Legacy, Universal is pushing ahead with the further chronicles of the Bourne universe as led by Jeremy Renner’s Aaron Cross. Fast & Furious **director Justin Lin is on board to direct, and script duties have now been handed to Andrew Baldwin.

He’ll take over the writing chores from Sherlock Holmes’ Anthony Peckham for a still-untitled adventure that will presumably continue Cross’ adventures in the fallout from his cancelled super-spy program.

Matt Damon remains unenthused about the idea of returning as Jason Bourne. In fact, he’s gone on record yet again recently to repeat that he’d only want to star once more if Paul Greengrass returned to direct, so we’ll be following Cross’ missions for the foreseeable future.

Baldwin hasn’t had any of his scripts produced yet, but he’s a hot property in Hollywood right now, with films such as **Bastille Day (which has Idris Elba rumoured to star) **and The Outsider in development. As for the new **Bourne **outing, Lin and the team are racing to get it into cinemas for August 14, 2015.
