He began the buzz on District 9 at Comic-Con the year before the film actually arrived, so it makes sense that writer/director Neill Blomkamp might be doing something similar for his next movie, Elysium. So it has proved, with a viral Augmented Reality Game launching at this year’s event in San Diego.

Posters for a company called Armadyne (big slogan: “We’re building the future and we need you” have cropped up around the convention hall and the lads over at Coming Soon quickly discovered that it ties into Elysium.

The company’s site includes a video that announces it’s looking for

"Zero g welders, mega-structure engineers, quantum networkers and experts in zero g coupling (fnarr) and multi-generational planning" as part of what appears to be the biggest construction project ever attempted by mankind. There’s a chance to apply for what we assume will be a constant info blast about the film, which will arrive in the UK on March 18, 2013.

Elysium features Sharlto Copley, Matt Damon, Wagner Moura, Alice Braga, Jodie Foster and Diego Luna and kicks off shooting shortly in Vancouver.
