Whizzpoppers, rejoice: a new piece of the BFG’s anatomy has been revealed! Alongside young orphan, Sophie (Ruby Barnhill), the cordial colossus’s lower legs and sandalled feet are very much the stars of the show in this brand new teaser poster.

Last month’s trailer introduced us to Sophie as she seemingly found herself stalked by the cloaked, dream-collecting giant. Of course, those of us familiar with Roald Dahl’s 1982 book (and the 1989 animation) know the mysterious behemoth is anything but scary - that job is left to Bill Hader and Jemaine Clement as even bigger giants, Bloodbottler and Fleshlumpeater.

After working with Steven Spielberg on Bridge Of Spies (and finding himself Oscar nominated in the process), Mark Rylance is the man behind the mo-cap as the Big Friendly Giant, recently giving us the skinny on his character's flatulent frolics.

There are certainly elements of Matilda and Big Fish in the above poster, which is considerably lighter in tone than anything that's been released for the film thus far. Having now seen the BFG’s eyes, hand, feet and legs, will Spielberg keep us in suspense and leave the full reveal until the summer? We’ll bet our last snozzcumber on it.

The BFG is released in the UK on July 22.
