Anna Friel has been cast as the female lead in Land of the Lost, the upcoming adventure comedy starring Will Ferrell and directed by Brad Silberling, based on the 1970s TV show of the same name.
We're not sure of the exact nature of Friel's character just yet, but she'll be the love interest to Ferrell's disgraced botanist who winds up lost in a strange world full of prehistoric creatures. Filming begins next month.
Friel has been making a name for herself stateside with the fantasy TV show Pushing Daisies. We've always been fans of her deadpan delivery and can see her as a good counterpoint to Ferrell's manic nature. Also, is it just us or is she turning into Zooey Deschanel's twin?
