In The Name Of The King: A Dungeon Siege Tale Review

If Uwe Boll weren’t such an appalling director you could almost admire his unshakable self-belief and uncanny ability to draw reliable stars to his increasingly turgid fare. The Ed Wood of unwanted video-game movie adaptations (he previously helmed the unfeasibly bad Alone In The Dark and House Of The Dead) outdoes himself with this sorcery-stocked flick, in which we are asked to believe that Jason Statham can lead an army of cardboard cut-outs to victory against a legion of Krugs (read Lord Of The Rings’ Orcs on a limited wardrobe budget) led by a shame-faced Ray Liotta. Nonsensical chuff from start to finish, the cast (including Ron Perlman and Burt Reynolds) look incredibly embarrassed, although their appearance does explain how they spent $60 million on this schlock.
