As a balletic showcase, this has moments of genuine exhilaration and poignancy. But the narrative aspect is derivative, pedestrian and melodramatic and it hardly helps that Cindy Jourdain and Arionel Vargas (as the star-crossed lovers) are dancers rather than actors.

When Oriel (Vargas) meets demure Eva (Jourdain), a fellow ballet dancer, the pair form a tender bond. It's soon tested by the hot-house world in which they perform.
