The makers of this digital video feature recently made the headlines for their brave attempts at simultaneous theatrical and internet distribution (www.thisisnotalovesong.com has details of how to order and download).

The film itself is one of the boldest and most gripping British movies of the year, touching on Straw Dogs, Deliverance and Of Mice And Men, as two petty criminals find themselves hunted in the wilderness by a vigilante posse.

Actors Glenaan and Colgan create a wonderful dynamic together - the former impetuous, the latter fully aware of the tragedy they've brought upon themselves - and Simon Beaufoy's script gives a strong base to their friendship.

Eltringham shows her tremendous knowledge of how to exploit the digital aesthetic, using slo-mo, pauses and image blurs to heighten character and action.
