Original Title:

King Ralph

A one-joke movie that gets its “laughs” from the fact that brash Las Vegas singer John Goodman inherits the English throne after every other member of the royal family is electrocuted in a freak accident.

It’s downhill from then on, with Brits Peter O’Toole, John Hurt and Natasha Richardson digging up their plummiest accents and wondering quite what they are doing in such a dreadful film.

Major League director David S. Ward is at the helm after doing a poor job of adapting Emlym Wiliams' much more entertaining novel.

Poor, even for a "funny because he's fat" film.
