A superb, pre-Batman Michael Keaton provides the laughs in this humorous spoof of 1930s gangster movies, as the hood-with-a-heart whos good to his mom, small children and animals.
When ailing gangster Jacko Dundee (Peter Boyle) decides to retire after an attempt on his life (his toilet explodes), Keaton steps in as the top villain in town, despite the fact his brother Tommy (Griffin Dunne) is the District Attorney committed to stamping out crime.
There's also a superb opportunity to spot some extremely witty cameos from Danny De Vito, Dom De Luise (as the pope) and Maureen Stapleton as Keatons Mom.
