An achingly contrived road movie with a well signposted script. Homer (James Belushi) is the big man with the mind of a small child. Eddie (Whoopi Goldberg) is the outspoken, highly amusing and insanely opinionated woman who has escaped from a mental home, she swears habitually and is terminally ill with a brain tumour and looking to live a little.
They meet when she tries to rob him, soon becoming friends and experience sundry bleak adventures on the way to an ending which can be seen coming a mile off.
There are only so many times these types of movies can be watched. However Golberg's in-you-face humour does make this an easier ride.
