Hannah Montana: The Movie

It’s easy to mock Montana. It’s a huge cash cow for Disney, the sitcom spewing a 3-D gig movie, albums and spin-offs galore. Star Miley Cyrus is the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus, for heaven’s sake. But there’s no denying Hannah has tapped into modern fantasies — this girl gets to be both normal teen and celebrity.

To recap: Hannah is the pop star alter ego of Miley Stewart, who lives a double life thanks to one blonde wig. Here, Miley gets too big for her boots and is taken to the country by her dad (Billy Ray). There’s a predictable plot, a few catchy songs and a shoe fight with Tyra Banks. In short: lazy but functional tween fare.

Lazy but functional tween fare.
