Flying Blind Review

Frankie (McCrory) is a reserved, career-focused aerospace engineer whose staid life is reinvigorated by a passionate affair with young Muslim student Kahil (Oudghiri). But is he in it for her, or for what she knows about the new model of drone she's privy to?

★★★★★

Superb performances and austere direction turn a potential melodrama about a middle-aged aerospace engineer falling for a younger Algerian into a fascinating treatise on kneejerk British attitudes to the complexities of Islam.

A tough, compelling thriller touching on race, prejudice and contemporary Britain. Not Blitz, in other words.
