Chalte Chalte

Chalte Chalte was Aziz Mirza's finest work to date. Add in Shah Rukh Khan, and it was no wonder the film made the UK box office top ten in June 2003, one of the first Indian films to do so.

This is a contemporary love story where the streets of Mumbai glow in the sun and the characters thrum heartstrings throughout the entire proceedings. The chance meeting of truck driver Raj and Priya leads to romance, but with both already involved with other people, can they find happiness? Well, this is a melodrama, so it's safe to say that the road to true love won't be easy. Half an hour of cuts would have helped with the pacing, but this is vintage Bollywood.

Overlong and uneven in tone, this is nevertheless an appealing Bollywood blockbuster.
