Bright Days Ahead Review

When retired dentist Caroline (Ardant) meets Julien (Lafitte), a technology instructor at her local senior citizens centre, the sparks fly. But the affair that follows has some unexpected consequences.

Fitfully amusing and poignant in its insights into ageing, this cross-generational fling saga lacks the character and depth to say anything genuinely significant. Glamorous yet vulnerable, Fanny Ardant beguiles, but Laurent Lafitte’s highly resistible as her self-serving beau.

A romance not nearly as seductive as its lead actress.
