Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of Review

Image for Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of

Documentary with the boys showing the audience their old haunts and how they were put together and nurtured or not.

★★★★★

Tears, recriminations and wistful recollections all feature in this lively doc following the ’90s boy band, as they reunite and revisit the haunts of their past.

As the five recall how their manufactured group came to life (“Pinocchio was manufactured!”), this provides an interesting insight into the pleasures and pitfalls of fame, including their time with mentor Lou Pearlman, who was banged up for ripping them off after playing the father figure (well, the kind of father who lets you watch his porn).

Fans will eat this up, though others will wish it delved further into the dark side.
