Tick: Complete Season 1, The Review

Equally paying homage to and ripping the piss out of DC and Marvel’s caped crusaders, the adventures of The Tick are little-seen gems.

Chronicling the exploits of the titular mighty blue bug of justice (all muscles, no brain) and his sidekick Arthur (supposed to be a moth; looks like a bunny), this animated series is consigned to cult classic status having failed to acquire a wider audience - which is a shame because the show is a corker.

No matter, though: with a hilarious supporting cast of super-friends in the shape of Die Fledermaus and American Maid, and an enviable arsenal of rib-cracking gags, fate should ensure The

Tick is a hero for the ages on DVD.
