One Tree Hill: Season One

The title of this show draws attention to its main shortcoming: that it is far from a unique concept, there being entire forests of teen dramas with much the same angst to offer, only presented with greater skill. The titular town, home to warring half-brothers Lucas (dreamy Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan (spotty James Lafferty) is a sleepy town full of equally snoozy relationship/family dramas. Without

a Seth or a Pacey, it struggles to find a comedic counterpoint for the earnest familiarity of this over-churned genre, and while there’s undemanding enjoyment to be had, this offers little new.
