Warning: This article contains clearly marked *spoilers* for The Bear Season 4
We know, we know, The Bear Season 4 has only just dropped on Disney+ and we're all still digesting that cliffhanger of a finale, but still... fancy a fifth course of culinary drama? Because that's precisely what we're getting, folks. Per Deadline's reporting, just a week after our fourth helping of Christopher Storer's Emmy-winning show started streaming, The Bear has been renewed for Season 5 by FX. And, what's more, we won't have to wait too long for it: it's slated for release in 2026.
News of the show's renewal follows a long old week of frantic checks and Google searches for word on The Bear's future after the series' fourth season finale. As anyone reading this will likely know only too well, Season 4 ended with *SPOILER ALERT* Jeremy Allen White's Chicagoan chef Carmy deciding — in a beautifully pitched display of personal growth — to hang up his apron, stepping away from the restaurant game and leaving The Bear in the more-than-capable hands of Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), and Sugar (Abby Elliott) as they now look to beat the clock and save their restaurant.
"The Bear continues to be a fan favorite worldwide and their response to this season — as seen through incredibly high viewership — has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons,” said FX Chairman John Landgraf in a statement accompanying news of the show's renewal. “Year-in and year-out, Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew make The Bear one of the best shows on television, and we are excited that they will continue to tell this magnificent story."
So, The Bear isn't over just yet — huzzah! But will Carmy be back for Season 5? Is he really done cooking? Can the restaurant be saved from the ticking clock (and maybe even get that elusive Michelin star)? And how will Richie, Sydney, and Sugar fare now that they're running the show? Well, we'll find out the answers to at least some of those questions when The Bear Season 5 hits Disney+ in 2026. Until then, Jeremy Allen White's going to have his hands more than full helping Deliver Me From Nowhere with his new Springsteen biopic before stepping into the Star Wars arena as The Mandalorian & Grogu's Rotta The Hutt. Now there's a career pivot if ever we saw one. Carmy, take note!
