With the start of filming fast approaching on Lucasfilm/Disney+ Star Wars series Ahsoka, the cast just keeps growing. The latest addition is genre veteran Ray Stevenson.

As with most of the cast for the new show save for Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka), Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker) and Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine Wren), we don't yet know what role Stevenson has been hired to play. He joins a lineup that also already includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ivanna Sakhno.

In addition to a wide variety of sci-fi and other genre credits (he's played The Punisher, was Volstagg in three Thor movies and Firefly in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Stevenson does have some Star Wars on his CV, as he's voiced a Mandalorian named Gar Saxon in The Clone Wars and Rebels (and the character appears in some games).

The Hollywood Reporter's story mentions that he's playing an admiral, but not Grand Admiral Thrawn, who is rumoured to be part of the show, since he's Ahsoka's main target.

With Dave Filoni overseeing the show, Ahsoka is scheduled to start shooting in April. Next up for the Disney+ Star Wars galaxy, meanwhile, is Obi-Wan Kenobi, due to launch on the service on 25 May.
