The Sheridanverse is expanding... again! Yes, not content with televisual domination through *checks notes* Yellowstone, prequels 1883 and 1923, Landman, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Lioness, and The Mayor Of Kingstown, the prolific Taylor Sheridan is now looking to dig deeper into the world of Sly Stallone crime epic Tulsa King with NOLA King, a New Orleans set spin-off. And, per Deadline's reporting, Sheridan has found just the right BMF for the job: Samuel L. Jackson.

According to Deadline, Jackson is in the frame to lead and executive produce the mooted Paramount+ series, which Mayor Of Kingstown and Tulsa King showrunner Dave Erickson is attached to write. If all goes according to plan, the idea is that Jackson will go head-to-head with Stallone's mob boss Dwight 'The General' Manfredi in Tulsa King's upcoming third season across multiple episodes, paving the way for the Pulp Fiction actor to dive into his own show off the back of that. Though specifics about NOLA King and Jackson's role are largely unconfirmed as of yet, it's understood that he'll play Russell Lee Washington Jr., a criminal underworld figure in a not dissimilar vein to Sly's Manfredi.

In recent years, we've seen Jackson flex his acting chops on the small screen in shows like The Last Days Of Ptolemy Grey, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, and, er, Secret Invasion. Entering the Sheridanverse however will be a fresh challenge for the 76-year-old Hollywood icon, not least because Jackson has somehow never worked with Stallone before (the closest they've ever kind-of come is the former pipping the latter to the lead role in 1998 crime drama The Negotiator.) Consider us locked in and ready for a clash of the movie star titans whenever NOLA King eventually arrives on our screens.
