In the annals of magic history, few figures have risen to such global renown as Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn, better known to most as German-American double act Siegfried & Roy. With their flamboyant attire, death-defying animal tricks, and passionate yet deeply private shared romance, the pair were a billion dollar grossing, Ocean's Eleven cameo making, occasionally controversial force of nature in the world of illusion. And now, having told the duo's story in podcast form with eight-part series Wild Things, THR is reporting that Apple has picked up a same-named limited series starring Andrew Garfield and Jude Law.

Set to be written and showrun by Only Murders In The Building co-creator John Hoffman, with WandaVision director Matt Shakman aboard to helm the pilot, the Apple TV+ bound series — which, like the podcast, will also be an eight-parter — will see Law playing Siegfried and Garfield taking on the role of Roy. An early synopsis for the show sets the tone for what we can expect from Wild Things, describing how the series serves as the "wild ride relationship tale of two of the greatest showman-magicians in history who, along with their white tigers, are tasked with turning Sin City into a family-friendly destination. The duo push the concept of illusion versus reality to the extreme, personally and professionally, until tragedy reframes and opens a mystery surrounding their last fateful Las Vegas show.”

Last seen in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew and A24 weepie We Live In Time respectively, Law and Garfield have somehow never previously worked together, despite being two of the most beloved British actors working today. But with production on Wild Things set to get underway before the year is through, fans won't have too long to wait to see whether the duo share the same magic chemistry on screen as the stars they'll be playing. If nothing else, after this show airs we'll technically be able to say we've seen Dumbledore and Spider-Man sharing a screen with one another. That's pretty wizard if you ask us!
