The smartest sitcom on TV faced a choice going into its fourth season: evolve or stagnate. Surprisingly for such a huge sitcom, Big Bang Theory did the former, increasing the female presence (a fiancée for Wolowitz, a mirror for Sheldon in Amy Farrah Fowler). No longer simply The Sheldon Cooper Show - although Jim Parsons’ amazing turn does still dominate - it remains the funniest multi-camera sitcom on TV.
