Following the success of Creed in 2015 (even if we had to wait until January 2016 in the UK), the movie's main cheerleader, one Sylvester Stallone, has been keeping the world updated on the status of the sequel. Now, according to his latest Instagram post on the subject, we can expect it to at least kick off shooting in 2018.

Few details are available for what the film will actually about, though Sly has been dropping rumours that it'll see Michael B. Jordan's Adonis Johnson stepping into the ring to face the son of Dolph Lundgren's Ivan Drago, AKA the man who killed Apollo Creed in Rocky IV. Which given the first film's ability to turn nostalgia into fuel for an interesting new story, could work again.

Stallone has been overseeing the script for this one, but it's not likely to see director Ryan Coogler returning, as he's deep into finishing Black Panther for Marvel, and would likely be busy in post-production and then promotional duties for the movie. Hopefully even without him, whatever the Creed sequel ends up becoming will live up to the original.
