Wonder Woman was a huge hit last year, and of course Warner Bros. and DC have been quick to get a sequel moving along, with Patty Jenkins once again directing and Gal Gadot starring. It appears the team has found their villain, with Kristen Wiig in early talks to play Cheetah.

The character has been through several variations through the years, but it's looking like Wiig, if she takes the role, will play the Barbara Ann Minerva incarnation, an heiress who through an ancient ritual (ingesting a combination of human blood and berries) acquires supernatural feline powers – but not without a cost to herself. She could be a fantastic villain to go up against Diana Prince, and Wiig makes for an interesting actor. We just hope they avoid the CG-heavy finale this time.

While there is no formal deal in place, Jenkins is said to have sought Wiig out and talked up the role in the sequel, which she's been developing with Dave Callaham and Geoff Johns. And though no official details have yet to be released, the movie is rumoured to be set in the 1908s during the Cold War.

Wonder Woman 2 is currently scheduled to be out in November next year.
