Harry Potter and its wizarding world has been very good to cinema and Warner Bros. in particular, providing eight movies from seven books. Now, according to creator (and Beasts scriptwriter J.K. Rowling, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them will be following in its footsteps, spawning five movies instead of the original three.
Rowling was speaking at an event for the film held in London and streamed live globally, including a Facebook Q&A with director David Yates and some of the actors. Rowling confirmed that she has figured out the stories for all five and will be the screenwriter for the foreseeable future. Attendees were handed the IMAX poster for the film, which you can find below.
The footage on show included the first 10 minutes of the film, which finds Eddie Redmayne's Newt Scamander coming to New York in the 1920s and, thanks to a mishap with his magical case, accidentally unleashing a horde of creatures upon the city. It's not a place where you might want such a thing to happen, especially with a lot of distrust between those with magic abilities and the "No-Maj", or Muggles of the day.
Another revelation from the event was Yates confirming that the reference to Hogwarts headmaster Dumbledore (or at Newt's point in time, future head) you'll have heard in at least one of the trailers is no fluke{
