Guy Ritchie has already gathered an impressive cast for his return to the sort of crime film that helped kick off his career. He's adding Hugh Grant to the lineup.

Ritchie wrote the script with Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson, and he'll also produce a film that chronicles what happens when a very upright English drug lord attempts to cash out his profitable empire by selling it to a family of Oklahoma billionaires. Grant will be Fletcher, a British gossip journalist with a reputation of going into people’s lives, and undoing them. Given his own fractious attitude towards some corners of the press, it's crafty casting.

Matthew McConaughey, Kate Beckinsale and Crazy Rich Asians' Henry Golding are already all aboard, and Ritchie is in pre-production on the film.

Grant was last seen as the preening Phoenix Buchanan in Paddington 2 and will make Toff Guys as his next film.
