It might be the end of the world, but some people just can't stop feeling fine about apocalyptic tales. Case in point, Paramount's Players department, which is developing Monster Problems and has Dylan O'Brien close to a deal as the star.

Michael Matthews, who made Five Fingers For Marseilles, will direct the film, which originated in a script from Brian Duffield since given the re-write treatment by Matt Robinson. O'Brien will play a guy who has to survive a monster-driven apocalypse to be with the woman he loves.

The Hollywood Reporter has heard it described as Zombieland crossed with a John Hughes-style teen comedy. O'Brien, of course, is no stranger to surviving post-apocalyptic landscapes, having starred in the three Maze Runner movies.

O'Brien has a few projects in the works, including a Marcel Marceau bio-drama and The Education Of Fredrick Fitzell.
