Chris Pratt has usually blended his action roles with a dash of comedy, even in the likes of the Jurassic World films. But for a new, untitled thriller springing from the mind of Taylor Sheridan, he could be going down a more serious route.

The writer behind Hell Or High Water, both Sicario movies who most recently directed Wind River, is at least attached to write, and most likely call the shots for the new film, which David Heyman is producing for Warner Bros.

Plot details are scarce, but Variety has learned that the film, working titled Fast, focuses on a black ops team that targets drug dealers who have protection from certain federal agencies.

While Pratt had a busy schedule lined up thanks to Cowboy Ninja Viking and Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, the former has been delayed for script re-writes and the latter is still feeling the fallout of Disney firing writer/director James Gunn.

Pratt is back in voiceover mode as Emmet for The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, due on 8 February. He's also worked on Vincent D'Onofrio's Western The Kid and will likely show up in the next Avengers, assuming Peter Quill isn't still blowin' in the wind.
