Finally on its way to screens after a long journey through the development jungles, starting with original director Kathryn Bigelow, action thriller Triple Frontier has put a trailer on the web. JC Chandor has since taken over the directing job, working from a script he re-wrote with original scribe Mark Boal. Triple Frontier finds a group of special forces operatives who have decided that after years of serving their country, it's time they looked after themselves a little.
Their idea? Planning and looking to pull off a heist in the titular region, a sparsely populated multi-border zone of South America. For the first time in their prestigious careers, these unsung heroes undertake their dangerous gamble, robbing a violent cartel. Things take an unexpected turn and threaten to spiral out of control, their skills, their loyalties and their morals are pushed to a breaking point in an epic battle for survival.
Triple Frontier will be on Netflix and – in the States, at least – in some cinemas in March.
