Striving to homage classic noir, but feeling like a 1950s British B, pill-popping, Scotch-swilling gumshoe Nick Bridge-Butler’s brush with femmes fatales, assassins, aliens and dream-manipulating creeps can’t be faulted for its ambition. But it’s hammily played and just plain unfunny.
