Patriots

Naive Irish-American Linda Amenoda is recruited by hunky Fenian Mark Newell in a Boston bar and brought to Belfast to be a soldier in the Cause. However, everyone betrays her: the IRA want her to carry a kamikaze bomb into Loyalist HQ, Newell is an SAS double agent who wants her to be suspected of his treacheries, and nobody in Ireland is as stupidly idealist as she claims to be. A low-budget exercise in earnestness, embarrassingly outdated by the Northern Ireland peace process, embarrassingly acted and full of clunker lines (“a cause that at first seemed as noble and romantic is in truth utterly sad.”).

Reactionary bullshit.
