Original Title:

Next Karate Kid, The

The second chopsockey kid sequel swaps genders and replaces Ralph Macchio with the cute Hillary Swank, although wizened tutor Pat Morita is still around. Other than that it’s formula stuff: girl learns the secrets of martial arts and the purity of life, ready to combat a set of bungey jumping Nazis led by Michael Ironside that plague her school. Karate Kid III was hardly successful, but the fat cats have almost rejuvenated the series by sacking of Macchio and replacing him with a girl. Laughably entertaining.

Almost a guilty pleasure. But not quite.
