Though we might question whether the world was truly waiting for a remake of classic Steve Guttenberg/Ted Danson/Tom Selleck child-care comedy Three Men And a Baby, least of all one starring Zac Efron, that's exactly what Disney has in the works.

To be fair, it hits a lot of the Mouse House's targets – a recognisable title for the nostalgic, but one that younger audiences may not have seen and can be updated, and a known name in Efron. Will Reichel wrote the script for the new film, which will premiere on Disney Plus.

And let's not forget that Leonard Nimoy's (yes, it was directed by the Star Trek veteran) film was, for all its box office success, a remake of a French comedy, with a story that sees three New York bachelors helping to look after a child whose life is threatened by criminal types.

There is no director in place for this one yet, but if the film works, expect Disney to push ahead with a remake of sequel Three Men And A Little Lady...
