Continuing its campaign to convert its animated back catalogue to live-action, Disney has had David Lowery at work for a few years on a new version of Peter Pan, called Peter Pan And Wendy. And he's been busy building a cast, as Black-ish/Grown-ish star Yara Shahidi is on board to play Tinkerbell.
The new Disney effort already boasts Jude Law as Captain Hook, alongside Alexander Molony and Ever Anderson as the title characters.
Lowery co-wrote the script with regular collaborator Toby Halbrooks, and we'll be interested to see what he brings to a story that has been brought to the screen many times, often to diminishing returns. The most recent example was Wendy, from Beasts Of The Southern Wild's Benh Zeitlin.
No release date has been handed down, though according to Deadline, the movie will arrive in cinemas and not go straight to Disney+.
