A pitch by rising comedy actors Will Arnett and Daz Shepard concerning the kerr-razee antics of hot-tub salesmen has been bought by Paramount as a starring vehicle for the pair.
With a pitch that that redefines "fish out of water”, Get 'Em Wet, follows a pair of successful salesmen who travel to Japan to try and crack the Japanese market. Of course, embarrassment and faux pas abound at every turn as the pair try to embrace Japanese culture and business practices. Shepard will write the screenplay.
The rising comedy pair — who have completed another comedy together, You Are Going To Prison, awaiting release — have a number of solo projects also raring to go; Arnett appears in RV with Robin Williams and is attached to two other projects — Dad Can't Lose and Most Likely To Succeed — while continuing to star in Arrested Development. Whereas Shepard can next be seen in Jon Favreau's family flick Zathura and the next — as yet untitled — project from Office Space creator Mike Judge.
If the script manages to keep the racist overtones in check, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson may have some pretenders to the comedy double-act crown.
