Move over, Wonderland – there’s a new Alice in town.

Production company Rosenbloom Entertainment has nabbed the rights to make a series of family movies based on Phyllis Reynolds Naylor’s Alice novels.

The first – The Alice Movie – will introduce non-fans to the world of Alice (Alyson Stoner), an 11-year-old girl dealing with her family’s move to Washington. Also featured will be Luke Perry, Penny Marshall, Ann Dowd and Lucas Grabeel, who plays her teenaged brother, Lucas.

There’s no writer or director yet, but the producers have a head start on the source material – Naylor has written 23 books in the series to date, which makes JK Rowling look like the laziest slacker ever.
