Warrior Nun has become something of a cult hit at Netflix, generating plenty of excitement (not least among the Podcasters of Empire's sibling title PilotTV). It's hardly surprising, then, that Netflix has ordered a second series.

More inspired by the graphic novel than a straight adaptation, Warrior Nun follows the 19 year-old Ava (Alba Baptista) who wakes up in a morgue with a new lease on life and a divine artifact embedded in her back. She discovers she is now part of an ancient order that has been tasked with fighting demons on Earth, and powerful forces representing both heaven and hell want to find and control her.

Baptista, Kristina Tonteri-Young, Lorena Andrea, Toya Turner and Olivia Delcán will all return for the new season, with Simon Barry back running the show. Naturally, there's no date for the show's return just yet.
