As Warners and DC Entertainment continue to slowly build their plan to create a fuller comic book-based movie universe as Marvel is doing, word on new projects is starting to leak out. We know that Batman and Superman are still the primary focus, but what about other members of the Justice League? Looks like Starman might be among those getting the single character treatment.
Nothing to do with the character played by Jeff Bridges in John Carpenter’s 1984 alien romance drama, this DC Comics hero originally appeared in 1941 in the company’s Adventure Comics title.
He’s not exactly a top-tier character and, like several others, is a name used by different people over the years. And he’s also had a variety of different powers (including a “cosmic rod” that let him fly, the ability to manipulate power and mass and a being of pure energy).
Pajiba’s sources report that Warner Bros. is in a very early stage of development, with no writer or director attached yet, and only producers Dan Lin (Sherlock Homes) and DC Entertainment’s Gregory Noveck on board so far. So take this one strictly under the category of rumour.
