Warners Buying Leavesden Studios

Warner Bros clearly enjoys using the Leavesden Studios, the home of all the Harry Potter movies, parts of The Dark Knight and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, so much that the company wants to buy the place.

With £100 million to spend, the plan is for the studio to make it its European production base; the first, according to Variety since MGM set up MGM London Films at Elstree back in the 1940s.

If it gets approval from the local councils, the company will refit the place with new production and post-production facilities, increasing its ability to produce visual effects, animatronics and editing, as well as offer exterior filming areas.

So if you've ever dreamed of owning a production facility (and who hasn't?), and have £101 million to spare, you could try to compete.
