The Clown Travel Agency website, here, a Dark Knight viral site that appeared earlier this week, has now been updated. It seems there is a treasure hunt on, with packages placed in cities around the world. Two are in London, one in Paris, one in Hong Kong, one in Sao Paulo, and loads in America.
There are addresses for several of them online already. We've dispatched one of our number to check on the London ones (run, Glen, RUN!), but we suspect they may have already gone, since they are stamped on the list, while none of the others are. If you have found one of them, please get in touch and tell us what you found. If Glen gets it – and we have instructed him to use the full force of his elbows, if necessary – then we'll report on his findings.
Today has been very dull newswise, aside from the flying penguins, so thank god for some excitement.
UPDATE: Bah! One of the London ones has gone. It was a bowling ball in a bowling bag. That fits with the note on the site, which says:
"Ready to have a ball?
A special bag of fun awaits the first to claim it, but you'd better strike fast, there's no time to spare!"
The ball was in the basement of the Tavistock Hotel, also known as Bloomsbury Bowl. Queensway, Bayswater is also home to a bowling alley. So, we're guessing these are all hidden in bowling alleys.
The ball apparently had a telephone number scratched into it and the bag also contained an evidence bag, inside which were a phone, a charger, Joker playing card and a note saying to call the number immediately. When the number is dialled, a message says, "I know who you are".
One of our users, Sowasred2012 (who is a very nice man), found one of the bags, the lucky boy. Thanks to him for the pics below. As well as being the proud owner of assorted Joker memorabilia, he also now has a really snazzy bag for holding knitting and such.
We feel a bit like Anneka Rice in that programme where she wore lycra and Hunted for Treasure. We think it was called The Blonde Woman Who Looked For Things*.
Another Update: All the bags have now been found. The Clown Travel Agency Site will now re-direct you to. www.acmesecuritysystems.com/delos. There you can choose to submit your email and phone number and then you'll receive a call from Commissioner Gordon telling you you'll either work for the Gotham Police or go to jail and he'll be in touch soon. Busted!
