The decision to ban 'The Prince of Egypt' may be reconsidered by Malaysia's government following an appeal by its local distributor, UIP - thanks to a pig. Despite their proven cleanliness, ill-reputed pigs of Malaysia are deemed 'unclean' by the nation's Muslim population; a trait 'Babe', also handled by UIP, was initially banned for. Malaysia's deputy prime minister, Yab Dato Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, has confirmed that an appeal filed by UIP will be studied. However, despite UIP's managing director Roger Pollock confident of success, doom seems inevitable after the country's minister in charge of Islamic affairs, Abdul Hamid Othman, openly stated that from now on, any film that offends the sensibility of any religion in the predominantly Muslim nation will be banned, saying of the Prince affair, "there is no compromise on this."
