TV Role For Noel

Oasis star Noel Gallagher has clinched himself a cameo role in a TV comedy about wannabe pop stars. Gallagher will play himself in Channel 4's new show The Young Person's Guide To Becoming a Rock Star. The programme relates the tale of Jocks Wa-Hey, a five-piece band struggling to make it in Glasgow, the city where Oasis were discovered by Creation Records mogul Alan McGee. A Channel 4 spokesman warned that the musician could end up on the cutting room floor when the film is edited later this year. Gallagher recently announced that he was knocking drugs on the head - and thus ending a well-publicised drug-taking spree - because they were 'too boring'.
