There's long been a mystery attached to Ridley Scott's Blade Runner - is Harrison Ford's character Deckard a human or a replicant? A forthcoming Channel 4 documentary entitled On The Edge of Bladerunner answers the question once and for all. The original film, in 1982, was given a happy ending and a voiceover from Ford, against Scott's wishes. After the 1992 Director's Cut, the debate over Deckard really kicked off. Clues to his identity include his memory - possibly implanted - of a unicorn, and the fact that he is sent to find four replicants, although there is a fifth, unknown replicant also on the loose. In the documentary Ridley Scott talks through the scenes which are thought to indicate Deckard's true nature, and reveals, "He's a replicant". The director's cut of Bladerunner and the documentary are both shown on Channel 4 on July 15, 2000.
