Travolta Names Director For Scientology Flick

John Travolta has announced that the director of Battlefield Earth will be Roger Christian, a second unit director on the forthcoming Star Wars prequel.. The Pulp Fiction star, one of Scientology's highest profile members,who will produce and star has been pushing to dramatise a novel written by the group's founder, L. Ron Hubbard for years now. The book is a sci-fi novel and has nothing to do with Scientology but the group have already been accused of trying to influence the studios by buying up copies. Christian Daily Variety reported that the film was dropped by MGM when the budget rose above $100m but it has been picked up by Franchise Entertainmnent.
