John Travolta’s pet project will see him transformed into a ten-foot alien. In an interview in this week’s heat magazine, the actor described how he will don stilts and talons for his role as Terl in Battlefield: Earth, adapted from the book by Scientology guru L. Ron Hubbard. “I’ll be on stilts because I have to be ten feet tall”, he explained, adding, “There’s an apparatus on my face . A big, tall head with hair, and all sorts of strange things. Amber eyes, and talons for hands…it’s wild.” A committed Scientologist, Travolta has been trying to get the project onto the screen for years. His first foray into sci-fi, the film is about to go into production with a crew including the cinematographer from Star Wars and the production team from Independence Day. It's due for release in Summer 2000. In the meantime Travolta slips into military investigator mode for The General’s Daughter. Out on Friday (September 17), our hero hunts down the brutal murderer of the titular victim. ![]
