Tom Cruise can do a lot of things on screen – usually while risking life and limb. But even he isn't immune to the shifting sands of movie release dates. Paramount has announced a raft of changes, with Top Gun: Maverick departing July for November, and Mission: Impossible 7 shifting from that month to May 2022.

That Mission move means that the eighth instalment (which has yet to fully shoot) will now arrive in July 2023. That change also impacts Dungeons And Dragons, which will move up to March 2023.

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins is shifting from 22 October to 23 July, while Kenneth Branagh's untitled Bee Gees movie is striding to November 2022. An untitled Ryan Reynolds/John Krasinski film will shift to November 2023.

And, in a mark of confidence for a franchise that has been stuck in dry dock for years, an untitled Star Trek movie is scheduled to finally warp in in June 2023. We'll see if that happens.

In related release news, Universal is shifting up The Forever Purge to July, while Sony is moving Peter Rabbit 2 to June this year. Yes, we know you're all on tenterhooks about that one.
