Tomb Raider: One of Three?

Tomb Raider director Simon West has told Empire Online that his current efforts with Angelina Jolie is one of three Tomb Raider movies in the works. Speaking to Empire Online this week, West told us that although the first Lara movie was influenced by 'new age mysticism', it wouldn't necessarily be the same for the sequels. 'The next [movie] might be totally scientifically based. Everyone's signed on for three pictures. I have the choice to do them if I want. I don't have to, but I'm very protective of it, because I've created the world and the people in it. At the moment, it feels hard to let someone else come in and mess around with it, or screw it up completely. But that's before I've made it. Who knows? If you choose the right director, the sequel might even be better.' Although Tomb Raider's unit publicist couldn't confirm whether Jolie has signed up for all three movies, perhaps this news explains the extraordinary effort she's put into training for the current film.
