Tom Cruise Takes The Train In New Mission: Impossible 7 Set Image

Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt has some form with public transport. Trains, in fact, stretch all the way back to the original Mission: Impossible, where he encountered a Channel Tunnel train (mysteriously with another in the same tunnel, which pushes the otherwise fun scene into the realms of actually impossible). Now, he's been back on the train for Mission: Impossible 7 shoot, and according to a new set image posted by writer/director Christopher McQuarrie, it's typically in a way that would definitely violate safety regulations, even if its healthily socially distanced.

Yes, Cruise clinging to a train feels about right for a franchise where the M team's operative is often found hanging off things in the cause of his job (or even just for fun sometimes). Would it be too much to ask for a cameo from David Schneider, he of the memorable faint tag to the original M:I scene?

The seventh movie's story remains a mystery beyond the usual spy stuff for Cruise and co., with "co." here blending returning veterans Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson and Angela Bassett plus new faces including Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Indira Varma and Cary Elwes.

Mission: Impossible 7 arrives on 27 May next year, followed by the eighth instalment on 7 July 2023.
