Heartthrob Tom Cruise is stepping up his involvement on the other side of the camera. He and business partner Paula Wagner are slated to produce The Others, a World War II-era ghost story written by Alejandro Amenabar, the 25-year-old Spanish-Chilean writer/director much admired by Cruise. The story centres on a young mother of two whose husband is away at war, but who soon realises that she and the kids are not alone in their island mansion.
